Flour, water, yeast, a traditional recipe and vision. That’s all you need to start a great company in the baked goods business, specifically in Greek pita flatbread manufacturing.

 

Our grandfather Andreas Zafirakis came to Greece in 1922 as a refugee from Asia Minor, bringing with him the traditional family recipe for pita bread. With this unique recipe, passion and a lot of work, he laid the foundation for a large-scale modern enterprise.

 

Later the baton was handed over to his son Pericles Zafirakis, who created our first manufactory in Nea Philadelphia, Athens.

 

Time after time our firm grew even more, adopting a new brand name, Zafirakis Food Service. We moved to privately owned facilities of 4,500 sq.m. and renewed our fleet of refrigerated trucks, ensuring reliability and quality in every step, from kneading bench to consumer's plate.

 

At the same time our business expanded to food service supplies, offering a wide variety of superior quality products. We adopted the most advanced standards of vertical integration of production and got certified with ISO 22000:2005 by TÜV AUSTRIA HELLAS.

 

All these years we have acquired unparalleled know-how in pita bread manufacturing and food services in general. That means we can guarantee the satisfaction of our customers with excellent quality, reliability and superior products. We can’t think of better ingredients for a long-term, stable and mutually beneficial relationship!

 

For eight decades we keep on enriching the traditional business recipe. We grow without forgetting our roots, supplying the Greek market of today with authentic, traditional, delicious pita bread, that evokes childhood memories of the original souvlaki taste. In two words, we are "baking history"!
